Virgin TV Anywhere app is not connecting to Tivo box (first try)

Hi,

I have installed the Virgin TV anywhere app on iPhone 6S. I have both the phone and Tivo box on the same network. However, as I try to connect the app to box for the first time, I am getting the prompt that  Tivo box not found on this network. 

I have looked through the forum and have restarted the Tivo box with no effect. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Are you signing in to the app with your primary account details?

You are almost certainly trying to stream a channel that cannot be streamed. Only channels with the wifi symbol can be streamed. Try channel 104.

This is not a problem with streaming. This is a problem with connecting TV anywhere app with Tivo Box to use that as a remote.

So is your TiVo connected to the HUB via Cat5e or better?

Hi soubaner,

 

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great to see a new face getting involved in the Community.

 

Apologies you've been unable to get the remote function to work via TV Anywhere. The first thing to try is a complete reboot of the whole system to ensure the 'handshakes' are being made between each device. 

 

> Firstly turn the Hub and the TiVo® off by the mains and leave off for around 5 minutes. 

> Double check the ethernet cable to ensure it's secure at both ends (The TiVo® and the Hub).

> Turn on the Superhub and allow time for it to be completely online. 

> Next power up the TiVo® and wait until you can navigate between menus without any hesitations.

 

This should allow the connection to be restored.

I did everything as suggested above. Still unable to connect unfortunately.

Thanks for getting back in touch.

 

I appreciate all the checks that you have completed so far, but to no avail.

 

When I checked your connection, I was unable to detect an Ethernet cable going directly from the TiVo® box to the Hub. Is the cable plugged in at the moment? Are you using any power line adaptors at all?
