Unauthorized device modification

I have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy tab a, (SM T-585) running the latest version of android, I have installed the TV Anywhare app but when i try to watch anything i using the app i get a message stating (Unauthorized device modification), I have read online that this usually only occurs when a device has been rooted (which i have not),  I am also not being prompted to register my new device either, which i would have expected to happen?

Please help.

Re: Unauthorized device modification

Where did you purchase it from? Perhaps if second-hand the original owner rooted it.

You can try either resting it to factory default or connect it to Kies via a Windows PC & download/update/reinstall the OS/software.

Re: Unauthorized device modification

No. Android devices that shipped with Android M aren't currently supported.

Devices that upgraded to Android M from a previous OS are fine.

Make of that what you will.

Re: Unauthorized device modification

I also am getting the "unauthorized device modification" message on an unrooted LG G5. Hopes were raised when I got a "compatibility update" today but the problem persists after this was installed.
It appears to be an Android problem as it occurs on various models.
