Tivobox

I have Virgin Tv only. My phone line and internet are with another company. Is it still possible to connect the Tivobox to my wifi so I can fully use the Watch TV Anywhere? Hope i have explained this clearly enough.

Re: Tivobox

Ok thanks Ernie. I'll look into that. The devices are in different rooms.

Re: Tivobox

You would need to fit a universal wifi adapter, such as the Netgear WNCE2001, to TiVo's Ethernet port.

Re: Tivobox

Could I re-use my wifi adapter from my old sky+ box?

If the adapter connects to Ethernet, not USB, then it would be worth trying.

Re: Tivobox

I'm pleased to say that it worked! Got my new TiVo box installed upstairs and connected one directly to my super hub via Ethernet cable, then connected my old sky+ wifi adapter to the other TiVo box via Ethernet cable.

i can now view and use the recordings from the other TiVo box and vice versa.

however I am disgusted that most channels' recordings are not playable on the other bid due to copyright restrictions! Why? I've paid for the subscription and its on my own private network!

I can also control both boxes using the app on my phone.

i am so glad I didn't shell out £47 for a power line kit!
