TV anywhere set up

does your tivo box have to permanently be connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable in order to use the remote on the tv anywhere app?

Your TiVo is permanently connected to the Internet via its own broadband connection and this allows most of the TV Anywhere function.

 

However, if you want the TV Anywhere app to, in addition, replace your physical TiVo remote, the TiVo does have to be connected to your home network. This can be done by ethernet cable, powerline homeplugs or wifi if you add a universal wifi adapter to your TiVo.
