Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Hi pilsudki,

Thanks for your post and apologies that we're not currently able to offer this feature.

We are always looking at ways to improve our service and make it the best. If and when this feature becomes available, we will certainly shout about it from the rooftops Smiley Happy

In the meantime you can still use TV Anywhere when connected to a wifi network Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Thanks for the reply

Can I ask is there a technical issue, that stops you allowing access via mobile network.

it makes no sense when all other networks stream over wi-fi or mobile

Thanks

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Just out of interest, could you tether a tablet to a phone, then watch on the tablet via the phone's 4g connection?

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Yes, assuming that your provider allows tethering within your package.

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

I think they all do now? BT Mobile just announced they're allowing it.

So there's no technical reason at all it can't work and Virgin aren't actively blocking streaming over 4G? Presumably if they didn't have the rights to stream over mobile networks they would have implemented some sort of vaguely sensible blocking.

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Virgin don't allow tethering but then again they don't have 4G either.....

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

Of course 3G would be fine as well, my issue is why block it anyway, ,maybe put a banner up saying "potential costly data charges", But leave it to me I'm the customer let me decide

Re: TV anywhere on 4G

That's what happens with Sky Go (and I think the Sky Sports & Movies apps too).
