TV anywhere app not connecting to Tivo Box

Hi - have just installed the TV anywhere App to my Kindle Fire - it shows me the guides / lets me see some live tv, and my planned recordings.  But it wont connect to the Tivo box.  I've followed all the online instructions, in setting up on the TV ie: allowing remote devices etc. but still wont connect me. I'm on the same wifi network, and we've switched off - rebooted etc. and uninstalled and re-installed the App.   Look forward to hearing how I can "connect".

Is your TiVo connected to your superhub using a network cable?

The message is poor and a red herring.

The OP is likely trying to stream a channel that cannot be streamed or watch a recording.

Actually it's not a red herring...my issue is that my tv anywhere app won't connect to to the TiVo box.... I've not even tried to watch anything as you say "streamed" yet!!   

I'd prefer constructive answers to my problem.

Hi .. thanks for replying, yes it is connect via Ethernet cable.  virgin installer did the set up for us.

Your last sentence is unwarranted and, in the future, unlikely to lead to any attempt at help from your fellow customers.

Now, what are you actually trying to do when you cannot connect to your TiVo?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community Smiley Happy 

 

Apologies to hear you are having an issue trying to connect to your TiVo® box. 

 

The first thing to try is a complete reboot of the whole system to ensure the 'handshakes' are being made between each device. 

 

> Firstly turn the Hub and the TiVo® off by the mains and leave off for around 5 minutes. 

> Double check the ethernet cable to ensure it's secure at both ends.

> Turn on the Superhub and allow time for it to be completely online. 

> Next power up the TiVo® and wait until you can navigate between menus without any hesitations.

> This should allow the connection to be restored so next open up the app and check to see if the exclamation mark in the top corner have disappeared Smiley Happy 

 

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Thanks so much for getting in touch. 

Ok 

.we've done everything you suggested..but when we log on to the TV anywhere App...  it still does not connect.

There is a. 'X' in top right corner, and when we tap on it to connect .it goes through the motions and then says 'TiVo not found on this network'. 

We've  checked set up and remote devices are recognized. So do t know why we can't connect??? We are on the correct WiFi.

Shame .. we are.out and about this weekend and it would have been.good.to be connected.

Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Can you please say what function you want to use this weekend when you are away from home.

Please don't say 'connect to TiVo'.

Say something like:

Watch channel 101, BBC1.

Set up some series links.

Watch some recordings from My Shows.
