TV Anywhere

Can a senior citizen get some help. I downloaded the Virgin TV Anywhere app onto my ipad for use away from home as I do not need it on any other device at home.

When I open the app I am presented with my Tivo Box number, the list of channels and other info. After selecting a channel to view I have no idea what to do next to view it.

Can anyone help. Thanks.

Re: TV Anywhere

You cannot stream BBC channels as they do not allow it. They expect you to use there iPlayer app.

BBC1, therefore, cannot have the wifi symbol as it cannot be streamed.

Try channel 104.

On the iPad TV Anywhere app, you should find a pull-down menu which allows you to display only the stream able channels in the Guide.

Re: TV Anywhere

Assuming that the channel can be streamed (wifi symbol), simply highlight the program you wish to watch and press the Watch Now button and then choose Watch on iPad.

Re: TV Anywhere

Hi Ernie-C,

The wifi symbol is shown next to the ipad symbol, when I select BBC 1 and select ‘Watch Now’ I only get a ‘Watch on

TV’ offer. How can I get ‘Watch on ipad’ offer.

Regards Canalboat.

Re: TV Anywhere

Thanks Ernie-C you have been a big help.

I followed your instructions re channel 104 and was given the Watch on ipad option. When I selected it I was asked to register my device but when I tried to register I was told ‘Access denied’ and ‘please return to the app to continue’ which took me back to the list of channels.

I know I am being a bit obtuse but where am I going wrong to register my device.

Can you tell me how to find the list of streamed channels via the app as I can't find a pull-down menu on the app.

Thanks again, I am sure you could put your time to better use.

Regards.

Re: TV Anywhere

Hi canalboat,

Thanks for your post and apologies for the issues you are having trying to watch TV Anywhere.

I've taken a look at your account and am not seeing any devices registered for use yet so can not see any reason why the iPad is redirecting you in that way. What version of iOS are you running? Check this in Settings > General >Software Update.

This will give you the version and also let you know if there are any updates available. Make sure this is up to date.

Have you got any other devices you are able to register for TV Anywhere?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Re: TV Anywhere

Hi Kath,

Did a software update and am up to date with iOS 9 but am still getting 'Access denied 'when I try to register my device (iPad).

Can you suggest the way forward.

Hi canalboat

Thanks for the reply and checking that the iPad software is up to date.

In regards to the access denied message, I have sent you a PM (red envelope icon, left corner) with some details for you to confirm please. As I would like more information to get this resolved for you.

Hope to hear from you soon
