TV Anywhere again

Tried Tv anywhere over the last few days and getting nowhere and no responses from VM to my recent comments in other threads

Sky movies managed to login but after clicking the watch link just got black small screen and nothing else

Sky sports play icons do not work after logging into Sky web site

anyone at VM with any answers or is it just system overload or have VM fallen out with SKY?

Re: TV Anywhere again

Hi PDavies,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear that you are having an issue using the Sky Movies and Sky Sports sites.

In order to look into this in more detail can you answer the following for me:

What OS is your PC/Laptop running?
What browser are you using and which version is it?
What version of Silverlight are you using?
Do you get anything different if trying another browser?

Come back and let me know Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Re: TV Anywhere again

Hi PDavies,

Thanks for your post Smiley Happy

When checking the account you have a device change left so registering another device should be no issue.

What error message are you faced with when trying to register the second device?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Re: TV Anywhere again

With Firefox normal VM channels

Just says "Device could not be detected"

Sky Sports, click "watch now" shows "loading" then nothing - does not attempt to login into Sky

With IE VM normal channles no problems

Its just the sky channels see earlier emails

Re: TV Anywhere again

Hi PDavies,

Thanks for coming back to me again on this Smiley Happy

OK, as the device detected message is coming up, this suggests your version of Silverlight may well be corrupt.

The best thing to do here is uninstall this from your PC and then re-install via the website. This should then allow the device to be detected, which in turn will register it.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Re: TV Anywhere again

Hi Kath

Not much success

uninstalled silverlight (twice second time using revo to clear folders and registry) and reloaded it

Briefly worked on a Sky sports channel (during which managed to register a sky device), switched to another one that seemed to be working, switched back to the orginal one and nothing loaded, back to original problem

No luck at all trying to watch a sky movie, just the black screen I mentioned previosuly

Re: TV Anywhere again

Hi PDavies,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you--Kath is away for a bit. I hope you don't mind that I've picked up your post. I'm sorry that you are still having a problem viewing Sky Sports and Sky Movies via TV Anywhere.

Several things I can suggest to check--first of all the technical requirements:

  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest version, 32-bit)

Secondly, if you go through the TV Anywhere website and click on the Sky Sports or Sky Movies channel from here, does it load and play?

And last of all, do you have another device to check this on? Are you having the same problem?

Please let me know.

Kind regards,
