TV Anywhere, Sky Sports and Firefox

One of my TV Anywhere devices is a PC that used to access Sky Sports through Mozilla Firefox. In the last few days, the Sky Sports page shows an error message that there is a problem accessing Sky Sports with this browser. I have tried to contact Sky for help but they won't deal with me as I am not one of their customers. Any advise please. I'm not the most technical person.

Firefox 52 has removed support for Microsoft Silverlight which is what Sky use on Windows PCs you make Sky Sports work. So your version of Firefox has likely update to this which is why you're now having issues.

The only browser that still supports Silverlight is Internet Explorer. So you'll need to change to using IE until Sky release their Desktop App for PC which will work with Firefox (this is currently only available for Apple Mac computers).

I had this problem, too, having installed Firefox as the only browser that worked across both Sky & VM's platforms at the time.

IE works just fine for Sky at the moment. I didn't even have to re-register the device after switching browsers, so it seems some providers are substantially more proactive in this regard than others.

IE is in Windows 10, although it will probably nag you to use Edge. Don't do that.
