TV Anywhere Android Update

We have now enabled all Android devices* to download and use Virgin TV Anywhere to stream live TV.

They can also all be used to manage TiVo, set recordings, change series links, delete recordings, and see what’s on TV - and you can use your mobile or tablet as an advanced remote control.


Because of this we’ve now closed the Device Support Request thread, as we will no longer be ‘enabling’ new devices – they should just work as indicated above.


While we expect streaming to work on most phones and tablets, we have not been able to test all of them due to the large number of Android devices available.


If you do have a problem, do check the Android Device List here.

If it’s in the Fully Supported list, then it should work, and we can assist you.

If it’s not listed at all – then you can always post here in the Virgin Media Community to chat with our other customers, or visit our extensive online help at



There remains a small number of devices that will show an error message indicating that the device is unable to stream.

These devices can still be used to manage your TiVo, however they cannot stream for a number of reasons.

For more information please take a look at the Android Device List  where you’ll find them listed under Manage TiVo Only.

*To use TV Anywhere on Android you need:

  • a compatible Android mobile or tablet with WiFi internet in the UK
  • a TiVo® box
  • your My Virgin Media username and password
  • Android version OS 2.3.3 & above for mobiles and 4.0 & above for tablets.
  • Support for Android 5.0 (Lollipop) coming soon.

For security reasons and to protect the rights of our content partners Virgin TV Anywhere is not supported on rooted devices, where unauthorised modifications have been made to the operating system.
