I am away from home. I can connect to On Demand and watch TV okay. I understand I cannot watch My Shows, but I cannot access the TIVO box to say set up a new recording, as I get the message" your Time V is not connected to the internet"

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with TV Anywhere.
How is your device connected the internet? What is the make and model of your device? Do you get the same issue at home too or just when you're away?
