Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Hi,
I'm trying to stream any channel to my smart tv from the TV anywhere app using chromecast. The app is working fine normally on my phone except when I try to chromecast. I get error code d:1.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Android Lollipop on a Virgin media WiFi home network. Can you tell me why this isn't working and how to fix it please. Thank you

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

This does not work because it is forbidden.

Same for Sky Go.

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I thought I'd read that Virgin were now supporting Chromecast. Can't seem to find where I read that and know they didn't in the past. Such a shame as it would be really useful.

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Hi userlt863,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums.

As mentioned by Ernie_C, streaming via the Chromecast won't work.

The app has a built in feature that blocks streaming when using another output. The only place you can stream is on the actual device you have registered. Anything other than that will through up an error code that you're currently seeing.

Chromecasts are not supported and as far as i'm aware, we won't be supporting it. If this does change then we will let you know Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Hi,
I just came across this after searching for the same requirement.
If Virgin TV Anywhere is ever on Chromecast please let us know.

NOW TV, Netflix, BT and BBC iPlayer to name but a few already work so Virgin need to keep up with the competition

thanks

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Those are not the true competition for Virgin Media. Sky is. Can you stream Sky Go via Chromecast? No.

Sky and Virgin Media want to keep their multiroom revenue, not encourage people to stream their channels at no cost to as many TVs as you want.

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

Just to say that BT allow Chromecast for their channels and i'd say they are now direct competition for Virgin and Sky.

I agree with point about multiroom revenue though. Shame they don't offer a subscription service to it to at least make up some of the losses. Would rather that than nothing at all.

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

I also want to use chromecast with TV Anywhere. VM are trying to stop the tide coming in.. eventually they will support this or people will find a way aound it.

I already have. I can stream VM using chromecast via Slingbox. Works well.

Re: Streaming TV anywhere to chromecast

It suddenly occured to me that it might be worth using TV Anywhere in a Chrome browser. If that worked then you should be able to cast the browser using Chromecast. Maybe worth a go?

Isn't sling box expensive to buy?
