Sorry, this is not one of your registered devices - YES IT BLOODY IS

This system is dire. What is the point in limiting devices if the shoddy system is incapable of recognising them properly and basically locks you out of it? 

 

Been watching on demand just fine the last couple of nights on a windows laptop. No problem at all; a happ[y customer.

 

Tonight I try to resume my series and now my laptop apparently isn't a registered device. It's the same laptop, using the same browser, operating system - even the same electrical socket.

 

But I cannot re-register the device because I already used up my changes for the month the last time it started playing up which involved me having to keep registering this very same laptop.

 

Whether or not this system works seems to be pot luck. It is terrible and could be easily remedied by getting ride of this registered device nonsense.

Thanks for your post and welcome tot he forums. 

 

I'm sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your laptop. 

 

I have taken a look and can see that you have 1 further device change left to use this month. 

 

Make sure you don't register your device again with Chrome as it wont work due to being unsupported. 

 

Log on to anywhere.virginmedia.com using Internet Explorer or Firefox. 

Click on My Profile > Device Settings

 

Delete the device from there and then re-add the device.

 

Attempt to stream and this should work for you with no issues.

Hi Kath

 

I'm in the same boat as others. Used Chrome for months. Today it said device not registered so, assuming it was a glitch, I re-registered the same laptop I've always used. Still using Chrome as no idea the system has apparently changed overnight. So my one monthly device change has been used so need it freed up to try it on IE

Just sorted it with tech  help on the phone. Chrome is now  useless they say due to Flash changes so the tech guy overrode the device limit and re-registered my laptop using IE. Works fine - so far!

 

Best to call Broadband  tech support
