Sky Sports on Galaxy Tab A

I have an iPhone 6 and have Virgin TV Anywhere and Skype Sports apps on this device. Both work perfectly.

My second device is a Galaxy Tab A.

TV Anywhere can be intermittent and halfway through a programme will show an error code asking for the device to be registered even though Virgin agree that the Tab is already registered.

I can't sign in to the Sky Sports app. The appp freezes at the sign in screen for Virgin customers.

 

Virgin sayou it's the settings on the Tab whilst the tech guys at Curry's say it's the app.

 

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times without success.

 

Has anyone come across this issue and resolved it?

I'm sorry to hear you are having an issue with the Galaxy Tab A. As it's working flawlessly on your other device, it's more than likely an issue with the tablet's specifications. 

 

What OS is the tablet running? 

When it asks you to re-register the device - do you do this or does it start working again just after?

Do you get any other error messages?

Thanks for coming back to me.

The OS  is Android 5.02  

I don't believe it's the settings as I've allowed access under the security.

As mentioned previously there are two issues.

The Virgin Anywhere problem is twofold  

Firstly during mainly but not specifically on BT Sport an error message comes up to say there are problems streaming.

This is solved by backing out of the channel and then repeating the process of logging back in.

This fault can occur 3 or 4 times during a match or programme.

The second issue is where Virgin Anywhere suddenly decides that the tablet isn't a recognised device even though it is.

I then normally come right out of the app and have to sign in again.

The second issue that I can't log into the Sky Sports app for android through the Virgin sign on screen. I put in my email address and Virgin password and the site just freezes.

I can access the sports stories on the app but I'm not allowed to log in and watch any sports channels.

The tech guys at Currys have looked at all the settings and can't find any issues.

In addition I have Amazon Prime, Netflix and Sky News apps on this tablet and all work perfectly without any problems.

It's not the settings that is the issue here. It could be the specifications of the tablet itself. 

 

With regards to the Sky Sports, rather than going through TV Anywhere, download the Sky Sports app direct and log in that way. I had another customer with this fault and when going directly through the Sports app things worked as they should.

Apologies for the delay in replying .

I had tried all that you suggested before I received your latest reply.

I am frustrated as I expect a state of the art tablet and a Sky Sports app to Work! 

As mentioned previously there is no problem with accessing Sky News!

Thanks for coming back and I understand why you're frustrated. 

 

With Sky News, this would work as you can access this via TV Anywhere so you don't need to go via Sky Sports app for this. 

 

Have you had any further issues with TV Anywhere since posting?

 

With regards to the Sky Sports app, did you try accessing it directly rather than being re-directed via TV Anywhere?
