Sky Sports error message on Sky Go App Code 4110

Hi

When I try to play Sky Sports via Virgin TV Anywhere  i get the following error message code (t:6038/c:4110).

I have no SIlverlight problems as am also a Sky customer and content plays fine direct with my Sky ID.

I have tried re-loading Silverlight etc. and just coming in via the Virgin sign -on.

TV Anywhere is working fine with all other channels so maybe is a device registration issue???

Any help much appreciated.

Re: Sky Sports error message on Sky Go App Code 4110

Hi baggies2,

Thanks so much for your post and apologies to hear about the issues you are having using the Sky Sports app.

Another user posted the following after having the same issue as yourself. He got this direct from the Sky Forum so it's worth a go.

Let us know how it goes:

1. Clear browser cache/reset browser settings and close browser.

2. Uninstall Silverlight

3. Select Start.
Select Computer.
Select Organize and choose Folders and search options.
Select the View tab.
In the Advanced Settings list, choose Show hidden files and folders.
Select OK.

then

Select Start Menu then Computer.
Select primary hard drive, usually C:\.
Select Program Data and then Microsoft.
Right Click on PlayReady folder and select Delete.

4. Re-install Silverlight and PlayReady

Silverlight
http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/

PlayReady
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=21772

5. Open up Silverlight(Click start and type Silverlight. Click Silverlight to open) and make sure these settings are matching yours

Within the Playback tab:
Ensure that enable download and updates to components required for protected content playback box is ticked.
Enable hardware accelerated playback is not ticked.

Within the Updates tab:
Install updates automatically (recommended) is not ticked.

6. Open browser by right clicking > Run as administrator

Access Sky Sports/Movies

it should install rights access and play without issue.

Close and re-open browser normally - all should be good.

Keep us posted and Welcome to the Community by the way Smiley Very Happy

Thanks,

Re: Sky Sports error message on Sky Go App Code 4110

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for coming back to me on this.

Apologies, I should have double checked the OS system first.

With MAC's usually the issue is with the cookie settings. If you double check on your browser, make sure cookies are set to always instead of Allow or Block.

Once you've done this try again. Has it made any difference?

Let me know.

Thanks,
