Samsung S6

TV anywhere is causing problems. I can't register it as I get the access denied page and have to return to the app. If I try and check my profile I get a very unhelpful message

OOPS . . . Something went wrong

unknown error occurred

Any ideas how to resolve this. I can control the TIvo box from the phone so it partially works, but I already have a remote that does this, but can't watch anything on my phone.

I'm really sorry to hear that you are having an issue registering your Samsung S6 device. 

 

It seems I've come across a few of these sorts of issues so I've raised this up to the IT team to have a look. As the device itself isn't supported by us I'm not sure whether they will look into this. 

 

In the meantime, a few things to double check with you: 

What OS is your S6 running?

Is this the latest version?

Is there an update in Playstore for the TV Anywhere app?

Thanks for your reply. I'm running 5.1.1, latest update. There appear to be no updates for the app.

Hi fenhatter, 

 

Thanks for your patience whilst I looked into this. 

 

The team have come back and advised that they have tested things from a test S6 device using your account and are not getting the same issue. 

 

They haven't been able to replicate things so it's making it tough to diagnose where the fault lies. 

 

Do you use VPN? 

Is there any other information you can give me that I can add to the ticket?

I managed to sign in using the main account details. It then worked for a while. Then when I tried yesterday it said the phone wasn't registered! I registered it on the spare slot but if it does the same again it'll take a month to get back on. Highly unsatisfactory.

I'm glad it's working for you again now. 

 

Your device was deleted in order for the team to add their device to test things out. Now it's re-registered it shouldn't need to be registered again.
