Programmes not playing

A few times lately when trying to watch a film/channel on TV Anywhere, I've been getting the message 'Programme not available on this platform', on some channels.

I've read a post from 2013 about this but it doesn't seem to answer this issue.

I'm getting the error message on channels and films (eg ITV4 Skyfall) I've watched before without a problem, but now lately they won't stream. I also tried a film on ITV but again the same issue. This is occurring on both my devices.

Am using TV Anywhere on Android 5.1.1 mobile 6.01 tablet.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

Re: Programmes not playing

It's a basic fact that some channels buy content without streaming rights.  In these cases, all legitimate streaming services are prevented from showing such content.

Example: I can watch Judge Judy via TV Anywhere on CBS Reality, CBS Drama & Really but not on ITV channels, where I see the "restricted" message.  If I go to itv.com & try to stream it from ITV Player, I see the same restricted message.

This isn't a fault & is beyond Virgin Media's control anyway.

Re: Programmes not playing

Thanks for the reply.

I just couldn't understand why the other day I couldn't watch Skyfall, when I've been able to do about a month earlier.

Guess I'll just have to accept it.
