I thought I'd try using TVAnywhere since the TV is often in use by other members of the family(!), but I'm rather disappointed in the picture quality.
In particular, I'm trying to catch up on 'Legion' (http://anywhere.virginmedia.com/show/legion); the opening sequence of episode 1 is so blocky as to be unwatchable — considering that 'The Look' of the programme is a good part of the appeal, to have it rendered in such a horrible way is really not very good!
I'm using Safari on OSX El Capitan (10.11.6), connected to the internet over gigabit ethernet and 'Vivid 100 Optical Fibre' broadband. The player uses flash, and there are no quality settings that I can find.
Any help in improving quality would be appreciated!
I too have noticed that on demand content is especially blocky at the beginning of each stream, with a lot of dropped frames too. It does improve as the stream settles down, but only up the the maximum quality that TVA is capable of, which is still pretty crappy.
