First use of TV anywhere app on iPad.

Can someone tell me...The first time I use the anywhere app on my iPad, do I have to be at home on the same network as my TiVo?

No, assuming you are wifi-connected, you should be able to stream OK. Your device will be registered the first time you stream a channel.

Ok, thanks but Every time I tried BBC to watch it says to use your device as remote control you must connect to your TIVO box.

...but away from home, you wouldn't want to use the app as a remote control for your TiVo, unless you wanted the family to think you had a poltergeist by remotely changing the channel they are watching.

I suspect you are trying to watch a BBC channel that is not annotated with the wifi symbol, such as 108. Try channel 101.
