Re: Does TV anyware

Depends on what you want it to do?

Do you want to watch programs on the TV anywhere?
Do you want to control the box from TV anywhere?
Do you want to schedule recordings from TV anywhere?

Hi artess,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums Smiley Happy

As mentioned by Swt4ajp, The box can be in standby and you can still stream from TV Anywhere.

Are you having any issues with this or was this just a general question?

If you are having an issues, let us know and we'll look into things for you.

Re: Does TV anyware

Not sure if this is a logical follow-up to the original question but should TV Anywhere work ok if the TiVo is switched off?

I am using the latest App on an apparently incompatible device - if the Virgin official list is to be believed -  a 1st generation Motorola X (XT1052) running Android 4.4.4 (KitKat).

My TiVo is connected to our home network and everything seems to work as it should if the phone is connected via WiFi to our network  - including the remote control functionality.

I can also watch the streamable channels via the app ok on the phone if the TiVo is switched ON.  This seems not to be the case  if the box is switched OFF.  Is this behaviour as it should be or is there something I'm missing here?

Re: Does TV anyware

Hi bitengineer

Welcome back to the community.

When the TiVo® box is turned off you should still be able to stream channels. The only thing that you won't be able to do is use the remote function nor be able to set up recordings.

Are you having issues with TV Anywhere not working when the TiVo® is turned off? If so what issues are you experiencing?

Hope to hear from you soon

Sam

Re: Does TV anyware

Hi Sam,

             Rather odd this.

I tried viewing the Horror channel   (chosen at random from the streamable channels ) on Saturday evening  and Sunday.  All I got on my mobile when I chose "Watch now" was the popup offering "Watch on TV" if the Tivo was off.  If I turned it on -fully or to standy - I got the popup offering "watch on TV" and "Watch on mobile".

Today, its working as I expected......I can view on my mobile irrespective of the Tivo being on, off or on standby......which is as expected.

Not sure why it was not working as it should but it is now so all is well!

David
