Device registration not working

I have got tv anywhere app on my iPad 2 which runs iOS 7. I have purchased Ethernet cable and attached between super hub and set top box (IP address starts 192). The app obviously recognises something as all my shows etc show up and the pause button works. However if I try to use my iPad to watch anything it says that the device is not registered and to register it. I click on register and it shows me a screen which says "Access denied - return to App". I cannot register device at all. I cannot get through on phone to get someone to talk me through. What am I doing wrong??,

I had exactly the same problem which was resolved by logging in with the main email address that is registered with my Virgin Media account. I had been using a second email address which is why the device registration option was not available in the settings.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having an issue registering your device. 

 

The advice from scorerd sounds spot on Smiley Happy 

It does sound like you're trying to register the device using a primary account. 

 

To check, log in to My Virgin Media here: http://virg.co/myVM and view your bills. If you're unable to view them this will mean you are using a sub account.

Thank you scorerd and Kath_F. 

I did a bit of digging around in box files and online and found out that I'm not the main account holder - schoolboy error!

Have now entered hubby's details and it works, hurray.

I've got exactly the same problem ((Access Denied when trying to register iPhone and iPad as devices for TV Anywhere). However I only have a primary account and no sub accounts. I can log into to http://anywhere.virginmedia.com/ OK from my Mac and stream TV OK, but my other devices always get the access denied page. I have tried changing the IOS Safari settings to always allow all cookies, with no success.

Also, when I try the short URL (http://virg.co/myVM) I am unable to login at all (but the full URL https://my.virginmedia.com/home/index does work and I can see my bills OK).

Welocme to the forum. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing when using TV Anywhere on IOS.

 

When you are trying to stream from these devices is it using the TV Anywhere application or using the Safari browser?

 

If you are using the application can you try to reinstall to see if this resolves the issue.
