Device limit reached every time I try to watch online

Hi,

I have two computers registered with TV anywhere. One is fine, but the other one tells me that the device limit has been reached every single time I try and watch something.

I try to remove the device and re-register it, but it doesn't work and uses up my monthly device change. I call up Virgin and they add another change, about twice this has worked, the other three times the technician has had to connect to my computer and reactivate it that way. It is getting beyond annoying now, for live sport events I have to make sure I'm free to call up technical support about 30 mins before I want to watch something.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I'm trying to watch it through Internet Explorer 6 with all the latest updates and zero adblocking software or other similar apps.

Re: Device limit reached every time I try to watch online

Hi brodel,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you are having this issue.

It may be due to the age of your internet browser. Try downloading IE 11 or using the latest version of Firefox instead.

Don't forget to update Adobe Flash and Java.

Let me know how things go after upgrading.

Thanks,

Hi Mark_thorpe,

Apologies that you are having problems with TV Anywhere working on your iPad. I have responded to your other post: Why when registering my 2nd device.

Thanks,

Re: Device limit reached every time I try to watch online

Hi Mark,

I have added another device change back onto the TV Anywhere server for you and there is still a device change available for your Sky apps. If you are accessing Sky Sports or Sky Movies, please download and use the appropriate Sky app for what you are viewing.

The reason you are getting this error is because you are trying to view a Sky premium channel via the TV Anywhere app and your iPad isn't registered on the Sky apps--so TV Anywhere will not allow access to an unregistered device. Are you able to stream Channel 4 on the TV Anywhere app?

Please download the Sky Sports or Sky Movies app: Watch Sky Sports with the Sky Sports app on iPad so that you can register your iPad with the Sky app.

Let me know how this goes for you.

Re: Device limit reached every time I try to watch online

Hi Mark,

This is because your iPad isn't registered on your Sky apps. The Sky apps are separate from the TV Anywhere app.

I will send you a private message requesting further details so that I can look into this further for you.

Just check the purple envelope at the top right of your screen.

Speak soon,

This is what she is saying you can watch Channel 4 through TV Anywhere but you have to use the specific Sky Movies and Sports apps to watch those.

Re: Device limit reached every time I try to watch online

Yes thanks but this is when it tells me device limit reached!
I can stream TVs through th virgin anywhere app!
But when I use the sky movies or sports it say device limit reached!
This is frustrating.
I have deleted sky movies and reinstalled it but the same annoying message returns.

Mark
