Do I have to be at home and connected to the same network as my Tivo for TV Anywhere to work? The app updated recently and streams fine when I'm at home and the box is on, however when I'm at work or have the box switched off I get a 'Connect to DVR' error message. I thought the app could stream as long as it is connected to Wi-fi hence being called Virgin Anywhere.
Your TiVo box does have to be powered on at home to be able to use the app to stream.
At work, even if the box is on at home, your work's wifi may be setup to forbid streaming from occurring. After all, your company may not want their employees streaming for a number of reasons. You should check with your company's IT department as to what facilities are authorised for personal use of their internet environment.
