Brand new PC but I can't access TV Anywhere.

I've registered the device but still no joy.

It's a Toshiba PC running Windows 8.1.

Weirdly, I'm getting a message coming up on screen saying that "This device is designed to be used on a computer..." and it is a computer.  I've tried watching on Chrome and Internet Explorer but no joy.

It's to be used as an upstairs TV rather than getting another TIVO box.

I'd be very grateful for any assistance please.

Re: Brand new PC but I can't access TV Anywhere.

Hi Gingernut1949,

Thanks for your post and apologies for the issues you are having trying to stream TV Anywhere.

If this error message is coming up it suggests one of two things.

1) You are using a PC / Laptop that has a touchscreen.

OR

2) You device can turn from a Laptop to a tablet Device.

If you come under the first category then using Firefox to register and play content will resolve the issue you are having.

If you fall under the second then i'm afraid TV Anywhere is not compatible with your device.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Re: Brand new PC but I can't access TV Anywhere.

I rang the help team and they got me onto TV Anywhere through Firefox - seems ridiculous to now have three internet systems on my PC and who would still choose to run Firefox?!!! I prefer Chrome any day.

It is a new Toshiba 23" Touchscreen PC so you were correct.

Re: Brand new PC but I can't access TV Anywhere.

Chrome rejecting plug-ins is affecting one of my work station programs and it's being re written in HTML 5 unfortunately it's one of the biggest Silverlight applications in existence and it's migration  date is in Q3 2016., so no chrome till then for me at work Smiley Frustrated
