1949 error

Further to the request on the main 1949-error thread, I've created a separate thread.

I have 2 PCs; both running Windows 10. One works perfecly well, one times out after 20 minutes as per the usual error. On the problematic one, I have uninstalled the player, and 2 copies of Cisco videoguard, and reinstalled everything, but to no avail. Please can someone make some suggestions ?

Hi John,

 

Thanks for posting!

 

When uninstalling the player make sure you check the following.

 

Go into C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Sky\Sky Sports and run the unins000 to uninstall the application. 
 
Once you've done this you will also need to delete the 'Sky' folder in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming. Once you've done this, delete the cache, cookies and browsing history and restart the PC. 
 
Once all is loaded back up, go to the website and try to re download the player.
 

Also, check to make sure your anti-virus software isn't affecting the player.

This seems to have solved itself; I haven't made any changes and I'm sure no updates have been done. This would suggest it is more of a problem at the Sky/Virgin end(s) rather than a client problem ?

Glad to hear it's working again!

 

I'm sorry for the trouble, there are a few known issues with the app that both Sky and ourselves are working towards fixing.
