internet saftey kids/adults

hi I have two children  15/10 years who use the internet plus I use it fro banking  shopping but mostly research for my dissertation, I was wondering if there is a way to have access to the internet block at a certain time for the kids and also to block certain sites such as fb twitter insta-gram, snap chat, as these sites have caused absolute chaos in the house with my oldest I don't want to stop them from using the internet but  need to restrict what they can access and times any ideas people

hiya @debs69 welcome to the virginmedia community forum, if you could take a look at -> http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Switched-On-Families/Set-internet-time-limit-for-child/m-p/31388... just to check what hub do you have..

you could look at virginmedia websafe -> http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=111904&CURRENT...

you could also use opendns _> https://www.opendns.com/ to block certain sites

Re: internet saftey kids/adults

One way to block certain sites is to use a hosts file, it prevents connection to what ever sites you put in it  http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

or http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/hostsman.html
