YouTube - Parental controls

My son has autism and insists on watching the same gaming YouTube videos over, and over. We don't have gaming devices or even a tablet he can use in the house as they increase his tics and he becomes 'wired' in a way normal tv doesn't seem to affect him. The YouTube videos have the same reaction and I'm really worried about the effect watching gaming YouTube videos has on his symptoms.
I'd like to have some control over if/when he watches it (ideally I'd remove it completely) but can't see a way of restricting time on YouTube, or even to add a parental restriction code so that he would need me to allow access.
Thanks.

Re: YouTube - Parental controls

Try contacting some of the contacts mentioned in this article to see if they can provided (better) help: My son, who is autistic, won’t do anything but watch YouTube videos

The following settings in Web Safe may block direct access to YouTube:

  1. Sign into Web Safe (using primary account holder details)
  2. Select the Websites tab
  3. Under Blocked websites type youtube.com into the field and select Add
  4. Repeat step (3) but this time with youtube-nocookie.com
  5. Repeat step (3) but this time with youtu.be
  6. Select Apply
  7. Select the Websites tab
  8. Confirm blocked websites were successfully added; if not repeat missing steps

Hopefully YouTube will be blocked now.

BTW, Web Safe relies on the use of Virgin Media's DNS to work
