Web safe isn't doing its job

So it was brought to my attention that my web safe isn't working.  I have children so naturally I blocked all pornography websites.  Why can I access every porn site known to man?   I've tried rebooting my hub, taking child safe off and putting it back on again.   Why is it still allowing all these sites to come through?   Please help!

Are you using the default VM DNS settings or others?

I'm not very good when it comes to technical stuff.  All I know is that my settings were blocking things that I wanted blocked but I got my modem changed about a week ago ( I had the black one with 5 blue lights now I have a big white one with a single white light) and now things are not being blocked.  Can you help me understand DNS settings and how to get the right one?

I would assume from your reply you haven't changed from the defaults, so you don't need to worry about that. I didn't realise you had a replacement HUB.

If it WAS working and has stopped since the HUB was changed, it sounds like staff will need to change the settings for you. Ill flag it for them and hopefully we can get it sorted. It may take a few days though, just to make you aware.

Oh thank you so much!  When I called this morning the guy I spoke to said that it would have nothing to do with my new hub and also said that some blocked sites may sneak through and that I could manually block individual sites.   In the past if someone tried to access a blocked site, the vm blocked page would appear.  Not the case now though!   I really appreciate your help.  Thank you

Have you tried installing a hosts file?  http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I don't have a computer, only tablets.   There was never a problem before I got my hub changed

Hi TheWife,

This is very surprising as I'm not aware of any other reported problems regarding Child Safe and Hub 3.

Obviously addressing this issue is important and I'm eager to get this dealt with as effectively and quickly as possible. I have sent you a PM (purple envelope icon, top right of page) so that I can check a few things with. Please reply when you have a chance and I'll sort this out.

One other thing has occurred to me: have you only attempted to access the restricted sites on one device? If the answer is yes I'd like to know whether or not you were connected via wireless. Just in case said device was connected to a neighbouring Wi-Fi for instance or (in the case of android/IOS) connected to the mobile network at the time. It's certainly worth attempting to access those sites on the devices your children use.

In addition to Jens excellent advice- Have you paired the devices with the NEW hub?

I followed the instructions given to me by my engineer Craig.   I scanned for my hub, put in the password and my tablet connected.  How do I pair my devices?   Sorry for being daft, but I'm really not that good at this sort of thing
