MAC Filtering is not working after Router Restart HUB 3.0

Hi there

I have enabled MAC filtering to restrict Internet Devices at certain times of the day.  Whilst this seemed to work initially, my teenager just restarted the router a few times, and it seems to overwrite the MAC filtering......can someone please help?

Thanks

OWL

Re: MAC Filtering is not working after Router Restart HUB 3.0

If the MAC filtering settings are the only difference from the default router settings then it is possible either of the following may have occurred:

  • router has been reset
  • MAC filtering has been cleared after signing with the default password; located on label on bottom of router

Try changing the default password to see if the problem persists.

BTW, be aware that MAC filtering can be circumvented by obtaining a valid MAC address and spoofing it to obtain access; where the device is physically connected or the wireless network password is known.
