Child Safe

We have various phones and ipads and laptops connected to our Virgin broadband.  We have applied child safe but although it has blocked some websites when testing it we still seem to be able to access 'images' that are not suitable.

How can I prevent my children searching google for inappropriate images as well as blocking websites on all devices?  Also to prevent inappropriate you tube videos etc?

thanks in advance.

Re: Child Safe

It doesn't block search results or cached images, only the attempts to browse to an adult website is blocked - not the images cached of it by Google or whoever or the search results.

You'd need to setup their device's web browser to login to a Google account which has all the strict parental controls enabled. This would need to be done on each of their devices. You'd do the same thing with YouTube, enable the YouTube parental controls.

YouTube parental controls: https://support.google.com/youtubekids/answer/6172308?hl=en
General Google parental controls: https://www.google.co.uk/safetycenter/families/start/basics/

They however could just click logout and all would be undone.

One post in the past mentioned the IP address of one Google's services, which when statically assigned as the location of Google prevented the bypassing of general Google parental controls. However, that was a solution for a full blown computer, not a mobile etc. And it does leave open the issue of when Google rotate IPs, the statically assigned IP address would either point to a dead page or a random wrong page.
