Blocking Internet access on devices

Last night I found out how to limited Internet access times on my sons devices. I blocked all the times and days out which I wanted no access. I was so excited , but sadly it failed as the times he was able to have access didn't work as he had no access. I've looked and looked but can't work out what I am doing wrong. Appreciate some help as I can't find a contact number to talk to anyone at virgin tech department. Many thanks in anticipation of the help I need

Re: Blocking Internet access on devices

I have just tried it myself , and yes ... sadly you are correct.

Denying total access ...fine

Limited/scheduled access ...doesnt work, just denies total access all the time

Re: Blocking Internet access on devices

What router have you got ?

You can block/limit specifically by the device's MAC address

Re: Blocking Internet access on devices

Sadly i have just found out that although Virgin released the 3.0 HUB over a year ago THEY HAVE FAILED TO GET THE MAC FILTERING UP AND RUNNING!!! Even though it allows you block times/days etc. After doing all that when you add a device it blocks you off the internet altogether, even though you haven't asked it to do that at that time of day! The man i spoke to at Virgin could had no idea why after a year the issue hasn't been dealt with. I am extremely disappointed!

Re: Blocking Internet access on devices

So you can successfully block the device via MAC address for no access at all ... but you cant block it at specific times & days ? Is that correct ? If so , that kind of sucks ... big time

Re: Blocking Internet access on devices

Yes that is correct. Even though it shows you a chart, lists all the days of the week and every hour it fails to work!

It sucks big time, if it actually worked i know a lot of my friends would change suppliers just for this feature. I am beyond gutted, i was so excited thinking i could programme access times.
