usually experiencing a happy 200+Mbps so when I see speed tests less than 100 its concerning
but over the festive period its been more in the 30s and 40s (oddly with a consistent upload speed?!)
any reasons for this?
Haven't called it in yet, as being told to wet my finger and place it in my ear or stand on one leg while reciting Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, really isn't going to solve what is probably an issue beyond the walls of my home.
Third-party router, Virgin SH2 in modem modem... both restarted, stroked lovingly, hell I'll feed them uneaten mince pies if it will return it to the speeds I was seeing in November 2016
so sadly the consistency was short lived and the line snapped!
I'm now part of the rabble that is HIGH UTILISATION
...for my sins I will now receive compensation of half my broadband fee per month until the ETA of APRIL 2017!!!!!
I still cannot believe that was flippers first response, when I asked about my fault reported 2 days ago:
"so whats happening? where's my call from the engineer?"
"he didn't finish, the job will be finished on the 5th April"
Why is it that VM (other well known telcos are available) have known for 2 months about this issue and the first I know is when I chase up an unresolved fault that they knew nothing about (allegedly) 'till I told them!
And the offering of compensation is a demand from me, in lieu of the fact that I'm paying for an advertised service and haven't been getting it.
Would have been far better to call me and say "hey mr person of postcode, you aren't getting the full quota, so here's some money back!"
....and another thing that irritates me is the only persons to be blamed for High Utilisation is the company.
They know the limits of their equipment and yet they keep inviting paying people into the pool!
