slow speeds

Hi, I live in area 20 and have similar persistent speed issues with my "up to 70mb broadband". The speed is averaging out at 20mb, and very, very rarely peaking at 23mb.

This happens regardless of the time of day/night that I run speed tests.

I've just (10.36am 11/03/2017) run a WIRED Speed test, results areSmiley Tongueing, 21ms .... Download, 9.72mbps.... Upload, 5.04mbps.

I actually get FASTER speedtest results when running them via a wireless connection. (10.34am 11/03/2017) Results were: PING 20 ms...DOWNLOAD 20.29 Mbps....UPLOAD 5.19 Mbps

Along with this, I get wifi dropout several times a day (anything from a couple of minutes up to, and sometimes over, an hour).

I'm including as much info from the "router Status" area as possible in the hope someone might be able to help, but as a total noob to this forum, I hope it's not TOO much info.

I'm using a Super hub VMDG485

Re: slow speeds

downstream power levels are too high - you need a tech to sort that - wait for VM to pick the thread up - that can take a week or so or you can ring

if you do ring and get offshore dont let them take you through their scrips - whatever they say there is nothing they can do - if they will not book a tech at first time of asking hang up and try again

once the levels are sorted retest and see how things are

Re: slow speeds

_tony_

Many thanks,

I believe the power levels were increased the last time an engineer came out (yes this is a recurring issue, both before and after upgrading to 70mb) because they were too low.

Seems a happy medium is hard to find lol
