slow connection speed

Over the last week or so my internet speed has dropped from 50mbs to what is now, at the most recent speed test, 6.52mbs.  And just when my connection speed should be going from 50 to 70mbs.

This is the same whether wired or wireless.

I have done the usual restarting router but to no avail. This issue is the same on all my laptops, whether windows 10 or windows 8.

I wonder whether the problem is with cabling or the exchange?

Potentially it's the Christmas bug. As more and more people are off work for the holiday season (and the kids) the Internet demands shoot right up.

Thanks but i don't think that's it. I've been with virgin/blueyonder for over10 years and even in peak demand times my connection speed has never dropped from 50mbs toanywhere near 6mbs.

I think i'll just have to get virgin to send out an engineer.
