"200mbps" Wifi Peaking at 3mpbs on multiple devices

My 200mbps package, which i'm paying £85 a month for(including my TV packages) will only reach speeds of 3mpbs download with only a 10mbps upload, i've tested this on multiple devices, i've changed the bandwidth channel multiple times and it only seems to get worse. I've taken all the obvious steps like checking the service status etc, which show no issue.

Surely I'm not getting what i'm paying for, I can't stream a full youtube video without having to leave it minutes to buffer, even on the lower qualities. I've only recently subscribed to virgin media and wasn't expecting this.

What steps should I take to fixing this?

Hi

Do you have a hardwired connection you could test with using a cat5e or above cable, it's the best place to start as wifi is susceptible to various external factors?

Is the Slow issue all the time or during peak hours 4pm to 12 midnight weekdays and weekends or all the time?

It takes a about a week to get an answer here from VM so it may be worth a call, remembering you have 14 days from installation date to cancel your contract without penalty.

If you want to persist here then please post your hub logs....

Open a browser window and input the URL 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 if in modem mode) and this should open up the hub's management screen.   Do NOT sign in but simply click on Router Status and post here the Upstream and Downstream stats and the network log.

The thing is they recently changed my cable because of some sort of fault, but the wifi was perfect before so i'm just confused thats all,

The slow issue is at all times ive tested at all hours throughout the day with the highest result ive seen being 4mbps

Your power and SNR levels will need to be adjusted quickest way for this to happen is for you to give them a call waiting here for a reply from staff can take a week sometimes more.

I get the exact same results, if not slower with an Ethernet cable
