Your Internet is Terrible

Internet is terrible.

It's basically a scam, con and false advertisement.

Package: 200mb/s.

What we get: 750kb/s (2mb/s if we're lucky)

(Internet should be more than 200x faster than what I'm getting)

It's been like this for over a year, the internet was fast for about 1 week after purchase then it just went downhill.

I reset the modem at least 5 times a day and call Virgin once a week.

As of today, I've called Virgin Support over 20 times. Nothings worked.

I've had Virgin Support come to my house and try to fix it about 4 times now and nothings worked.

Even called you, and you've tried things on your end, but still it hasn't worked.

Don't recommend this internet to anyone.

Definitely deserve a refund...

Changing as soon as contract is over back to something faster than 700kb/s....

Re: Your Internet is Terrible

Evening CameronBA,

Thanks for posting. It's nice to have you here.

Sorry to read that you are experiencing slow broadband speeds. I know how frustrating this can be.

Looking at your connection, there is a high peak time traffic fault in your area which is causing slow speeds. Our networks team are investigating the problem and are improving bandwidth and performance to help with this issue. The reference number is F003576042 and with a review date of 29th March 2017.

As this will have an impact on your connection during peak hours, do you get these speeds at all times of the day?

If you complete a speed test through a wired connection, do the speeds differ at all?

Hope to hear from you soon

Sam

Re: Your Internet is Terrible

That's **bleep**. I've just got off the phone from 6 different people from Virgin and I've been told about 3 different stories.

Re: Your Internet is Terrible

The phones are just script readers that promise the world that they cannot deliver.

The forum team give you non script reading.

the bad side is, it's over utilization and the only dates you will be given are REVIEW dates not fix dates (despite the phone staff scripts calling them that)

Re: Your Internet is Terrible

I got passed on about 6 times, tried to get put onto the cancellation team and they just stalled and sent me to some random engineers. Asked for supervisor, they said they would call back in 10 minutes, but never called back. Just a joke.

Re: Your Internet is Terrible

It's why I won't deal with the phone staff. Yes it's quicker but you don't get the correct information or the resolution you want.

I'm not sure how long you have left on your contract but you don't need to wait until it is finishes to terminate your services and move to another provider if that is what you want.

You have had official confirmation that your connection suffers from a high peak time traffic fault in your area which is causing slow speeds. Networks team are investigating the problem and at some point in the distant future will eventually improve bandwidth and performance to help with this issue. The reference number is F003576042 and the next review date is 29th March 2017. How long  F003576042 has been open is unclear but you state you have had these issues for over a year.

You are not being provided the service for which you are paying. I assume you are in receipt of the monthly loss of service credit?
You can cancel your contract without any penalties but you must first complain in writing. In this case they are in breach of contract and failing to provide the service and duty of care which it owes to the customer.

-----------------------------------------------------------
I am in an OVER UTILISED VIRGIN MEDIA AREA - poor speeds of 0.3Mbps to 4Mbps every evening.
Contention reference "F002896495", has now become F004952644.
Ongoing since March 2014. 16 review dates... Next Review JANUARY 2018
