I have the same problem, tried NORDVPN and now with express VPN, normal download speeds hit 220 mb with VPN on i only get 55 mb, I have the super-hub 3 so wondering if it is an issue with the router firmware as the settings don't have any tick boxes for VPN pass through etc.

how do you assign ports to your vpn?

Looks like this practice has started again and has been ongoing for several months now. I wonder if it's network wide or just the areas which are suffering from the typical low capacity of the VM network. Cannot achieve greater than 60 Mbps from actual VPN providers and private VPN setups alike during peak times. Out of peak and there doesn't appear to be a limit. I am seemingly in an area suffering from capacity issues which rather helpfully don't get displayed on VM's status page. ~130 Mbit is quite OK on a 200 Mbit product that used to be able to get 200 Mbit...
Past tests have shown these VPNs to offer close or max speed of the VM connection. Speedtest (speedtest-cli) on the applicable remote servers have shown that they are capable of exceeding a Gbit for both up and down, so those aren't the issue.

Same issue here. Superhub 2 achieves approximately 150mbps. Feeds wnr3500 Netgear with Nord VPN, using UDP port reduces speed to 20 mbps. I've tried multiple Servers, makes no difference. Read various other advice with regards to settings i.e. primary (Virgin) router in modem mode. No change. So many people reporting same issue. Even without VPN activated speed is reduced. This is doing my nut in, no-one seems to know the solution.
Anyone with a solution, I would be forever grateful!
