I am on the Vivid 200Mbps service and rarely get above 100Mbps speeds at all times. Whether at peak or off peak I don't think I have seen a speed above 100Mbps, the reason I pay for 200Mbps is because of the amount of devices in our house that use the internet.
Some of you may think 'What are you complaining about' however I don't expect to buy a dozen eggs and get 6 in the box.
What does a speed-test with one device hardwired to the HUB using CAT5E or better cable and a known gigabit NIC say?
If you've lots of devices connecting, obviously the bandwidth is shared between them so a speed-test under those circumstances WILL show a lower speed. And if you NIC is 10/100 instead of GB or your using the wrong cable (CAT5 or worse) , again a speed test will crap out about 95MBps even if WAN side is delivering 200Mbps
