Virgin Media Speed wave

I have just created a new Speed Wave for the forum so an overview of users speeds can be collected. Feel free to check when ever you want .... http://www.speedtest.net/wave/996a6f98db2fc097

Re: Virgin Media Speed wave

It won't be an overview of users speeds. It will be an overview of customers with problems speeds.

An overview of VM speeds are already provided: http://www.virginmedia.com/shop/broadband/speeds.html

Data is collected via an independant and not from VM themselves

It will still be a collection of actual users speeds, regardless. I am well aware that data is collected via an independant, as I also have a "whitebox"

Re: Virgin Media Speed wave

Well what collection of data are you trying to get?

Some skewed data by posting on a forum dedicated to primarily customers with faults? What point are you trying to prove with that?

Skewed ? skewed in what way ? How will the speed wave tests in the link be inaccurate, unfair, or misleading ? Surely the link you posted to "Our Typical Broadband speeds for December 2016" is , as you say "skewed" ?

"With Virgin Media, you'll get much closer to the broadband speed you pay for." is a very inaccurate statement from that link, according to many users on this forum.

Wouldnt you say that was innaccurate, unfair or misleading ?

Re: Virgin Media Speed wave

Ignore the words on the post, that's marketing mush for vs BT etc.

The figures are already there, they are updated every month. You say you have a samknows white box yourself so you know it collects the data impartially when the connection is not in use (ideal testing conditions, not much/anything interfering). That is the data the figures posted there is using. Independent samknows data. Not VM figures made up in fairy land.

As you can see the figures do not point to perfect speeds all the time. But they are not being hidden.

The only purpose I can see for doing a speed wave on a forum primarily used for problems is trying to collect biased evidence for something. What is your agenda?
