Video calling issues

Hi Guys

I'm in area 18 and have poor quality video conversations. I recently had Download speed issues which VM resolved, 40mbps from a 100 Line. Its now around 75mbps so okay. However i get 6.10 mbps upload and wondered if this is sufficient for Video calls to the U.S.

I work from home so this is essential.

VM told me this package would be sufficient when i started in February but im not getting a good quality call on voice or picture anymore.

Would the 200 package improve upload speed?

regards Adam

Any help gratefully received.

Re: Video calling issues

Hello Adamjohnstwins,

Thanks for posting and a warm welcome to the Community Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about your struggles with video calling. I've just taken a look at your connection from our end and everything looks normal. Can I ask what programme you're using to make video calls and what device you're using?

Speak with you again soon,

Take care.

Re: Video calling issues

Hi Thanks for messaging

I have the Program Jabber Video which is the corporate Cisco product for my company. It has always worked well even in this house on the Wifi until recently.

I have an HP Elite book laptop in a docking station and now wired thru ethernet? Still not as good as before.

Both sound and picture are poor.

Thanks Adam

Re: Video calling issues

Hello again Adamjohnstwins,

Thanks for getting back to me Smiley Happy

I know Jabber, I use it too. Does Modem Mode make any difference to the performance of your calls? Do you have any problems streaming movies or anything?

Speak soon,

Take care.

Re: Video calling issues

Hi Heather

Not sure what modem mode is to be honest?

Do you mean streaming on such as Netflix? via my TV??

Strangely im using Skype today and everything is working really well?? Does that mean that it is the jabber program??

Thanks for your help so far

Adam
