Very slow broadband started today Tue 13 Dec 16 in area 20 NE Surrey.
Download fastest: 1.53Mbps slowest: 0.49Mbps. Upload fastest: 2.32Mbps slowest: 1.34Mbps
Ping was between 9ms and 41ms. Ran Virgin online test but no result.
Cut off 3 times from Virgin helpdesk after about 10 mins each time. Finally spoke to someone who advised no posted problems in the area. He went away and checked with UK engineering.
He then advised cables were being replaced in the area and slow internet for at least a week. He said to avoid using the internet in peak times afternoon/evening!

Sorry to read that you're getting slow speeds at the moment, I appreciate this is frustrating for you.
I can see the fault in your area under ref: F003964596 which is currently due for review on the 15th Feb.
While this is on-going you may notice the speeds decrease at peak time hours, like you mentioned.
