Unusable evening broadband

100mb broadband, basically becoming unusable every evening in area code 03. Having to use 4G instead it's so bad. On top of that every time I'm promised a new super hub it never arrives.

Re: Unusable evening broadband

Welcome to the high utilisation club, a member of the forum team will apologise in 7 days or so and supply you with a fault code you cannot look up and a review date that means nothing as its not a repair date.

In the meantime feel free to troll the forums on your superfast broadband as its about the only page that loads in peek time and call India on 150 with the fault code the forum team provide to get a MASSIVE £3 diminished service refund for the month.

If you are not willing to put up with the lies and quite possibly YEARS of rubbish internet there are other providers available (once you start having issues you forever will!!!)

Re: Unusable evening broadband

I have also been experiencing this for the past 2 days! I am in area code 03, and am on the 200Mb broadband package.

Right now I have download speeds of 500Kbps...

Sort it out, Virgin!

Re: Unusable evening broadband

Hi degreecy,

Thanks for the post! I am sorry to hear about your issues with your broadband speed being unusable in the evenings, I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I have tested things from here for you and I noticed that your area cable seems to be suffering some load issues, especially during the peak times. We're planning to undertake some upgrades to parts of our external network in your area in order to combat this.

The upgrades will be to improve bandwidth and performance during the peak hours, the reference number for this is F005148767 and is currently scheduled for review around the middle of May.

Thanks for your patience with regards to this matter, I will need to pass this onto another team for you but before I can do so I will need to clear some security questions with you.

I will send you a PM (purple envelope at the top) detailing what's required in order to proceed. Please respond to me there and I'll get this sorted for you.

Take care,

Thanks,

Adam.

May is a few months away when you're paying for 100Mb broadband.  Will post some speed stats from the evenings.  I am surprised, as I'm sure the Virgin Media CEO lives in Area Code 03.... wonder if he has problems in the evenings.

Re: Unusable evening broadband

He doesn't have any problems ... he's got BT Infinity 😉
