Tip: New Super Hub3 apparently too Powerful for my Network Adapter

My new Super Hub sits on my desk to my left, my somewhat ageing Dell Desktop sits at my feet to the right. There is about 1.5 meters between the Router and the Antenna of the Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter fitted in the back of the Desktop.

I had a problem, although I could see the Router on my PC, it refused to connect to it.. I put an old tin tobacco tin over the antenna sticking out of the back of the PC, and low and behold everything worked fine! The box was presumably attenuating the signal from the Super Hub 3. I had similar problems with a Raspberry Pi placed close to the router, solved by sheets of metal.

I hope this helps someone.
