Its installed, 39mbs of Sky BB service which is what I am paying for, so thats good. I will let you all know more when my 2 gamers are hammering it this weekend.

One thing I have noticed is the TV on demand is 1000 faster than on VM, I player takes seconds to load compared with the 5 minutes that Tivo takes.

As said I will let you know more when I have road tested further.

Good for you... please keep us informed on the performance.

Re the Tivo box, you are right, it is a pain to use. Its very slow and clunky. Sometimes I think it has frozen. Needless to say, we don't use it that often for on demand.

Re: Thats it, I'm off...Sky coming on the 10th of June

Well we've had Sky for a week now, so to let you know,

My 2 gamers are happy with it, getting a constant 38 to 40 mb no matter what time of day.

The menu system for Sky is so much better laid out and quicker than VM

I only have a couple of down points ( or I have not spotted it ), The first is putting subtitles on and off is a chore with sky, where as VM have a one button solution, and the second is returning to the last program takes 2 clicks on Sky, and thats all the issues I have had so far.

The plus side is I am saving £60 yes SIXTY pounds a month and getting the BB service I am paying for. Dont know why you are all waiting, call 150, say your leaving TODAY, any of that " contract " nonsense from VM, tell them THEY are in breach as they did not give the advertised service and you will take them to small claims if they dont releash you, and reclaim for all the months you have not received the service.

Do it now.

Re: Thats it, I'm off...Sky coming on the 10th of June

[ Edited ]

the only reason i dont call "TODAY" and leave is im on the border of 2 area's for BT, no fibre and can’t get BT Infinity right now
You could get
2.5Mb    Estimated download speed*
1Mb - 4Mb    Estimated download speed range*
512kb    Minimum guaranteed speed* (LOL)

so im stuck with VM until BT install Fibre near me.

I have the 200mb VM and have been happy with it until the last few months where its been each day slowing down.

I get roughly at peak times 15-20mb (one occasion 0.12) usually over 100mb later in the evening and full 200mb during the night.

ive posted and waiting for an answer from VM if I am indeed oversubscribed I will be claiming for a monthly rebate. its important for me to have reliable network as I have SKY Q installed and it needs a good connection,

Re: Thats it, I'm off...Sky coming on the 10th of June

Well nearly 3 weeks in, and all is well £27 for the same package I was paying Virgin Mediocre £85 a month for, no drop in BB speed, TV menu and on demand quicker, have dialer ID for free its all great.

Quick question, are second hand Tivo's and VM BB hubs worth any money?

No, it still belongs to Virgin. The hub is no use to anyone else anyway as they'll only activate it for the account they supplied it to.

Re: Thats it, I'm off...Sky coming on the 10th of June

Looking on eBay there are loads of VM boxes for sale, I was hoping to make a few quid back to make up for the shocking service I have paid for but not received for the past 2 years. They have emailed to say they are sending some boxes for the return of the stuff, when do they come to collect?

Thanks
