Speed

When will you stop overselling your service and provide a service to those of us who do not download porn music or movies?

Pay for top tier package only to have the same dial-up service We had 15 years or more ago but paying more for it.

CR: Mr X You need to buy this package to enable you to have a stable connection.

Sucker #200011 Purchases the next package connection still the same, barely useful.

CR: Then you need to buy this package sucker #200011.

Sucker buys the next top package only to find out I have the same rubbish service I had with the last two previous services. Traffic management is now a feature on every package and is named "over-utilization"

Over-Utilization; Basically you oversold your service and can no longer provide a suitable one for many of your customers. Yet still take £££ for nothing.

Whilst we waste time to CR to be asked time & time again; have you reset your router, have you turned it on and off again? Have you thought of giving your first born up to the Internet gods for a stable connection Sucker #200011?

Offers 1st born to internet gods. Issue still the same.

Calls CR: You have offered your first born to the Internet Gods and it still is the same? Let me check it on our end. Taps keys.

CR: We have found out you need to buy X package.

Sucker #200011 will this fix my current issues with the internet?

CR Yes if you get X package all will be fine.

10 months on the issue is till the same. I have been paying top $ for something that should have been in a thrift shop bin..

Clean enough for you mrs?

AREA30 Rubbish connection since may 2016.

Down 1.46Mbps

UP 21.32

If down is so poor the upload speed is utterly worthless.

Re: Speed

Hmm, that's the 1st I've heard of someone being sold a higher package to fix a fault.

Are your speeds the same wired and wireless and what are your router stats?

Re: Speed

While you probably have over utilization, what you've posted does raise some questions.

From the wireless signal strengths connected, you won't get full speed on 2 of those devices at least, you might on the middle on if it's on 5ghz and ac compatible. And both your wired connections are limited to 10/100.

So basically being on the top package does absolutely nothing for you and wondering why you are even on it. Guessing you are the sucker in your story then.

To the other chap, it isn't the first or last time that being told to upgrade package will fix over utilization. NEVER believe anything offshore tell you.

Re: Speed

I do not care about my wifi it does what it needs to do.

However what I am still unhappy about is a cabled connection being far too slow & unreliable for far too long.

What kind of person worries over wifi......

Re: Speed

I commented on both wireless and wired:

To reiterate. Your wired connections are only negotiating a 10/100 connection from the information you posted. This means they will never go above ~90Mbs. You shouldn't be on a package above the 100Mbs one with your current set up as you cannot utilize it, based off what you've posted.

This is all after over utilization is fixed. As your speeds seem massively lower than they should be anyway, which I assume is over utilization.

Re: Speed

I Have always been advised to get this upgrade for x reason for the past 3 years. Now we have the VIVID 200 for when a lot of data is downloaded. The fact our network speed is only 10/100, that is sufficient.

Wifi also does what it needs to.

I would be satisfied with 90Mbps at it's best it said it was downloading @ 24.XXMBps. I have no qualms about paying good money for a reliable speed whilst also supporting the infrastructure & future upgrades not just shareholders wallets.

Does Virgin do a package that avoids the Overutilization?  If so Sell me that.

Re: Speed

The amount of data downloaded makes no difference to the package. None of them have download caps
