Speed Issues...

[ Edited ]

I'm on the 150mb package, and I have only been getting 40mbs for the last 20 days....
I have tried the online chat, and phone. But neither have been able to help me.

I just made a post about this but for some reason the post was rejected. I would like to know why and I would like help with my internet connection.

How are you testing? Wired or wirelessly?

40Mbs is a common wireless bottleneck.

Slow speeds all the time or just evenings?

Phone staff literally can't do anything for a wired connection. They can just change your superhub wireless settings and reboot the hub.

What are your powerlevels like? Go to 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.100.1 in modem mode, don't log in, look for the router status button (top right for superhub 1/2, not sure where for superhub3 but you should be able to find it - if not you probably can find when signed in on it) - in the next menu go to the 'downstream' 'upstream' and 'network log' sections and copy and paste all the information from there to here, cover your IP in the network log if it shows up though.

Will see if anything obvious is there - admittedly I'm not hugely clued up on the network log but others on here may see / understand anything you may have popping up.

Also, if you haven't already, consider setting up a thinkbroadband quality monitor. Will show some other information on your connection too.

Thanks again for responding.

I will setup a Thinkboardband Quality Monitor, I used to have one, but I had problems with it not working correctly when I was using IPFIRE as a firewall.

I'll see it works with pfsense.

Here is the information from the superhub.

UPstream running too high at the very least, will flag this for a tech booking for you, forum team should hopefully be in contact tomorrow.

Edit out your IP from the network log, mods will be gone by now to remove it themselves.

[ Edited ]

For some reason the edit post option has disappeared.

I didn't remove that IP's that are there as I didn't believe they were mine. I think that might have been from when I was in normal mode.
In modem mode now. and the IP's listed are not my ip currently.

Re: Speed Issues...

It's now 00:30 on monday. More than 24 hours later, and my speed is still as bad as it was before.
Will be phoning up again today and hopefully I will get through to an English callcentre...

Re: Speed Issues...

Go for the 'thinking of leaving us' option during office hours and you should get U.K. based agents.

Re: Speed Issues...

Hi there Stealthbird97,

Thanks for taking the time to post on the community.

Sorry to see you are having an issue with your broadband connection.

I've just checked your connection and the upstream power levels are now within range at 48 dBmV, which is good. I did notice an issue with high traffic on the network that I have raised to our networks department for further investigation.

It may also be worth you taking a look at this link > Traffic Management.

Will speak to you soon

Sam
