Speed Boost? Refund Due?

Just had this message from VM via 'My Virgin Media': 'Your speed boost is complete! Your connection speed is now up to 50 Mbps. We've upgraded your speed so you can enjoy more of what you love to do online.'

There's just one problem.  I've been paying for an 'up to 50 Mbps' broadband speed as part of my  broadband package for over two years.  Does this mean that I haven't been getting that speed for the past 2 years 2 months and hence I'm due for a refund?

Re: Speed Boost? Refund Due?

It means you are ineligible for the speed boost, that's the default reason.

Usually would be from changing package in any way or taking out any discounts since last October.

Re: Speed Boost? Refund Due?

Virgin Media sent me an e-mail on 09 September 2015 entitled 'We're Giving You A Broadband Speed Upgrade This Autumn' together with an embeded video.  The autumn referred to in the e-mail was Autumn 2015 NOT Autumn 2016.

So VM have failed to keep their promise.  The speed upgrade was a year later than promised and has consisted of a zero Mbps increase.

Re: Speed Boost? Refund Due?

The speed boosts started in October 2015 you are correct.

Have you changed your package in any way whatsoever since October 2015 or taken discounts / line renter saving?

Re: Speed Boost? Refund Due?

Yup.

Lies, and overselling. We all deserve refunds, and it is bordering on criminal.
