Slow speeds London N4

Anyone able to look into the broadband in this area

 

most evening for the past week or so have been getting 10mbps or less till the early hours of the morning. and other times have lost connection completely for and hour or so, which has happened three maybe four times over the same period

 

Am the first to admit that I hammer the life out of my connection, so when it should be 100mb and hits these lows it's very noticeable.

 

I'm in the N4 area of London
and connect to the computer with an ethernet cable

I've heard that a "review date" is actually just VM going to check the status of a site, not the actual fix date. This could still go on for another year...

I am sorry you are having problems, it is looking good from here. Area traffic is low, no historical SNR issues, your line stats looking good, hub showing continuously online for last 8 days with no errors. Hopefully it is better for you please bring us up to date.

I have tried to run a few tests on your equipment and the network however I couldn't locate any of your details linked to your forum account.

Thanks for getting back to me with the details I requested, sorry about the delay in replying to your post.

 

I have tested both your equipment and also the relevant networking segment for your area, both tested well. I did notice that we are planning to undertake some upgrades to parts of our external network in your area in order to improve bandwidth and performance during peak times.

 

The upgrades are due for a review on 22/07/15 and the reference number for the work is F003018799. 

 

For any further updates on these works, please post back here and we'll be more than happy to find out what's happening for you.

Can I take it from you post that these bad speeds in the evening will be the same till the end of July,

I know it's not your fault, but it's been like this a month already, and has got to the stage where trying to use the net in the evening is frustrating and almost pointless for some sites.

 

Is it possible to get some sort of compensation for this till it's sorted.

because I'm not really happy with the fact that the main time I can get on-line during the evenings this so called 100mb connection is running around 10mb at best.

Just to update this

 

I have just called VM and requested an impacted service credit as I saw that there was someone else on here in the same area with exactly the same fault who was advised to do that.

 

When I called I quoted the fault reference number and explained that I had been asking on here about the problem and explained that I'd seen someone else advised to call so was doing the same,

and I was offered £10 a month credit till this is sorted.

 

Would still much prefer the speed to be what it should in the evenings, but guess this is at least something.

Has your issue been resolved? Would you recommend it?
