Can anyone confirm if there are speed issues in the Liverpool 4 area at peak times. I'm supposed to be on 100Mbps but for the last week I've been getting 2.23Mbps (according to Speedtest.net). After midnight it goes up to 43Mbps and sometimes higher.
I called tech support, their efforts managed to get my existing connection to 1Mbps. The first agent was totally hopeless and told me to reboot the modem and call back in half an hour if there was no improvement. To my surprise there wasn't.
The second agent I spoke to said my account had been linked to an existing fault and to try the connection again in a couple of hours. I was not impressed with the help I received.
I live in L4 and can also confirm there are massive utilisation issues in peak times as well as outside peak times. This problem started back in 2012 but has got significantly worse since October 2015 (see my signature for reference)
I'd either cancel now or make sure you use the 14 day cooling off period if it doesn't deliver. Some users of the forum are suggesting that work is taking place in the Knowsley head end now for Feb/March however others have been told a their review has been put back further by another 3 months.
OK, not sure if anyone else noticed this last night but potentially there is work being done.
Previous BQM graphs have been like this
However, yesterday at around 12pm the modem went offline twice over a one hour period - I'm now connected to a different set of channels and the graph now looks like this.
The repetitive spikes are my active monitoring on the connection so nothing to worry about. It's not perfect but speeds were significantly better last night with them not dropping below 100Mbps however still quite random between the top speed for my package.
It'll be interesting to see if this continues to improve as while it might be better it doesn't look like the area would currently be able to support 200Mbps at peak time.
