Slow internet speed.

I pay for VIVID 200 (I don't expect 200mbps all of the time) but I seem to only get around 80/100, I have experienced this for a few months now. Was hoping it would speed up over time but obviously not. Would anyone know why this may be the case?

Are you connecting using wifi or with an ethernet cable ?

Ethernet and WIFI are both rather similar now, back at the start when I upgraded I got a consistent 200 all of the time on ethernet and a consistent 170/180 on WIFI.

Ok, its just that 100/80 is what you'd expect with a 100Mbit port or some wifi conenctions, however as you have had better thats probably not the case.

could you go to 192.168.0.1 don't log in but post the stats you find there to see if you have problems with your power levels.

that aside, it'll be 1-2 weeks before a member of virgin staff will reach this message, but in the meantime maybe we can get a clue as to your problem.

Hi chrismorris46, 

Thanks for letting us know about your slow speeds, I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I have tested things from here and I noticed that all your area cable seems to be suffering some load issues especially during the peak hours. We're planning to undertake some upgrades to parts of our external network in your area in order to combat this.

The upgrades will be to improve bandwidth and performance, especially during the peak hours. 

The reference number for this is F004967663 and is currently scheduled to be reviewed around the middle of April. 

Thanks for your patience with this matter, I will need to pass this onto another team to take a look for you. Before I can do so I will need to clear security with you as our process for doing so demands.

I will send you a PM (purple envelope at the top) detailing what's required in order to proceed. Please respond to me there and I'll get this sorted for you.
